This is John Batcher speaking with Captain Jerry Hendrix, the United States Navy Retired

Aviator about the Red Sea Basin, the operations of the U.S. and UK warships now to protect

shipping through the Red Sea Basin. More shipping has

been struck over these last hours. At the same time a third wave of missiles going out from the US Navy against targets in Yemen, the

huthi targets. Much information, however, the point of the conversation with Jerry here in is can the

U.S. Navy sustain this mission in the Red Sea Basin and into the Gulf of Aden indefinitely.

Jerry answers comprehensively about the U.S. Navy and its familiarity with these waters and its

ability to project power and maintain it against the

threat the growing threat of the huthies using rocket parts and warheads shipped to it from Iran.

His experience there as an aviator many decades ago. Well, you know I made my first deployment to the

Red Sea in in 1991 off the tail end of desert storm and my first flights actually were flying out of Jetta Saudi Arabia

up and down the Red Sea tracking ships because at that point in time if you

remember during Desert Storm Jordan was on the other side and there were a lot of
