This is John Bachelor, conversation with my colleague Elizabeth Peek of the Hill

a columnist of Fox News a columnist about the anticipated, long anticipated at an

expected quarter point reduction in the cost of money by the Federal

Reserve within these next hours.

Quarter point has been established as the way up and the way down. However, this tells me that there is a

trend on Wall Street suddenly. More than 50% of the cognizante believed that the move could be a half a point, which would be surprising.

The question here is, a quarter point or a half a point is going to move the market right before an election, move it in a positive way is the expectation.

And what is it with the Federal Reserve making a move that helps the incumbent party at least appears to help the incumbent party and

would have a point help them more more of this tonight. I mean it's interesting right because historically I think Fed shares were very cautious

about doing anything particularly dramatic around an election.

JPEL does not seem particularly concerned by that.

He is, and you know, maybe it's valid,

but if he comes through with a 50 basis point cut

after all this pushing, he won't go 75, I can guarantee you that.

But if he comes through with 50, you have to kind of wonder if some of these political voices haven't had some impact.
