This is John Bachelor, conversation with my longtime good colleague Bob Zimmerman about the European

Space Agency and the European nations in general, their approach now, to low-Earth orbit to boosters to satellites to

nanosatellites to the Earth Moon system that's in the immediate future and

then eventually to the Earth Moon Mars System.

European Space Agency and the European countries

are giving up on the idea that big space must be funded

by the taxpayer that no one else can afford it. There's money in

space as SpaceX is proving it Blue Urchin is proving it rocket lab is

proving it and they're going for private companies.

Bob makes the choice here.

Upgrading Ariana 6, which is long awaited and not cost effective because they throw the booster away and for startups we can assume

the startups are going to have an ambition which is reusable is Bob Zimmerman on

the Europeans taking the right direction for the 21st century.

Oh yeah, this is once again in Europe beginning to adapt capitalism in space.

There were two stories at a website called European spaceflight.com.

It's a very good site.

One of the stories talked about how area of space officials are selling upgrades they're going to do to the area on six.

Those upgrades have to be approved though by the European Space Agency and they will do that in 25.
