Examiner in the Wall Street Journal about Erie County, Pennsylvania.

The poorest zip code in the state is the city of Erie. The Erie County is dominated by transformation.

Selena describes it as going from a large manufacturing center to looking to education and

medical science as a way forward. What she comments on here is in the immediate

future of the presidential election.

Every county voted for Obama twice, Trump once, Biden once.

In other words, it picks winners. And as Erie County goes, so goes the state of Pennsylvania.

So here's Salina Zito to explain where Erie county is right now,

undecided.

It's an undecided kind of county.

Since the 2020 election Republicans have gained, I think it's about 15,000 new registered

voters in the county.

That's not something to ignore.

That's important, Democrats still hold a very slight edge.

I believe it's around 5,000, but that's wildly different than it was, that it has been forever. You know, this has always been a really deep

democratic stronghold. But as the coalitions have changed between the

two parties and sort of you know working class have gone from the Democrats

always known as the sort of storyed New Deal Democrat
