This is John Bachelor, conversation with colleague Bill Whelan of the Hoover Institution about his column,

about Mr Newsom, the Governor of California, and a remark that he made during a podcast with friends about the process of choosing

Camilla Harris, former Attorney of California, former District Attorney of San Francisco, now Vice President, choosing

her in a non-primary fashion.

The governor was asked or to comment on was he satisfied that it was an open

and process in which everybody participated and she was the right choice. He said as much and then he said that's what they told me to say as

Bill will explain. It's a surprising revelation if it is. Now Bill has a lot of experience listening to Governor Newsom make remarks.

So to votee is the way you write it in a novel. However, revelatory to me is that Mr Newsom, who came up parallel, as Bill says with Kamala

Harris, is now a man without an ambition, the White House being filled Is Bill well and to explain,

the White House being filled with Kamala Harris's victory?

If so, is Bill willing to explain,

that's what they told me to say.

Now, keep in mind, this was on the Pod Save America podcast which he's done before these are

former Obama people so I imagine Newsom kind of felt like he was among friends

and let his guard down but was one of those kind of great candid moments in

that this is a very frustrated politician
