Report, reporting on the growing Park Fire in the north of California,

approaching half a million acres,

partially contained, but Jeff reports the scale of the deployment.

You mentioned more than 6,400 firefighters,

enormous amount of equipment,

and the fire Jeff estimates will burn for weeks.

Here's Jeff Bliss on the Park Fire, where it is. Well we know right now and the heat wave that's striking the firefighters. More of this tonight.

This is in the Northern California counties of Bute, Tama, Shasta, and Plumice.

It's in the Lassen National Forest Area as well.

And this is a huge fire.

We think it's going to top 500,000 acres, a half a million acres, by the end of this weekend.

It's not getting better.

The situation is worsening because of the high temperatures you know the things you need for big fires are

Temperatures wind you know oxygen and fuel which is usually all the vegetation. They've certainly got the vegetation and with the heat right now

it's just making the matters worse for everybody. And of course that also makes it

tougher for the firefighters dealing with you know being in the fire zone.

It makes everything much harder, much worse for them.
