Hello and welcome to Contemplations and today we are talking about Ruby Ridge which of course is now quite an infamous event that went down in Idaho in August of 1992 and we're going to talk about the events leading up to it the actual

events themselves some of the aftermath as well as some of the political ramifications

and just the all of the things surrounding I suppose and I'm going to be discussing

this with Bo and I think this is a sort of good partner to talking about Waco you know

that infamous podcast. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Probably the one I've got the most stick about so I've been a bit more diplomatic this time.

Well I actually think it's easier to be, oh, diplomatic,

They're trying to silence me, don't allow them. There we go. So, assuming the mics are behaving now, I suppose we may as well get into what happened.

So, I think you need to be acquainted with the Weaver family and most of all

Randy Weaver but he did have a wife who will be talking about how we met her that

sort of thing. His wife was called Vicky, most commonly, or Victoria. And also they had some children. And what you need to know about Randy was that he joined the Army in 1968 and didn't see combat in Vietnam of course the

Vietnam War was sort of at its peak in 68 wasn't it he didn't see combat no

because I knew he's in the Army I knew he's in the Greenberries I knew he was in

Vietnam but he didn't know actually in the Greenberries I knew he was in Vietnam but he didn't know

actually in the Greenboro supposedly everyone always says he was a Green Berey in

arm is that not the case then I think it gets claimed but I did some digging about military records and it just says that he was in the army and he was actually just a he was trained as a combat engineer

but it was no fault of his that he didn't see combat. It wasn't it. It was just how he was assigned but he was discharged honorably at the rank of sergeant on the 8th of October 1971.
