This is John Batchel, a conversation with colleague, Mary Anastasio Grady, the America's columnist and editor for the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal, about talk that the Trump administration is ready to deal with the Maduro regime in Caracas.

They take back their refugee migrants, we let them pump oil, and other details.

This upsets the opposition that is being chased and

brutalized by the regime. However, there's more to it than that. There's drugs, there's criminality,

there's Russian China, and Hezbollah present. Mary describes where we are and the paradoxical nature of the

approach to the regime in Caracas by the Trump administration, if so, more of this tonight.

Well, it could be, but I mean, if Donald Trump decides that he doesn't care what happens in Venezuela,

all he wants is a deal where they take back the criminals and we let them sell us oil,

then it's not going to help the opposition.

What I think is interesting is that all of the people in the Trump administration and the Republicans,

including Bernie Moreno, are saying that it's really important that they stop selling

doing drug trafficking to the U.S.

But as Marco Rubio said, that is what the government is.

They're a drug trafficking organization.

So anything we do that
