This is John Batchel. Comment by colleague Jim Fennell, United States Navy retired, aviator and intelligence officer,

0:09.0

about evidence of a Chinese-made air-d-air missile on the ground with serial numbers that identifies it as a very long range over-the-horizon air-d-air missile, kind that the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force have routinely.

0:26.9

The challenge here is to update our understanding of the Pakistani Air Force's capabilities.

0:34.0

There's a video that Jim has provided as well as his comments that shows a very, very modern and present condition at the Air Force,

0:46.8

a command center, missiles, aircraft, and briefings very carefully done with equipment that did not exist, as Jim says,

0:57.2

embarked upon the USS Kitty Hawk, and we had come out of our three and a half months in

1:51.5

the Gulf, and we were doing a combined operation with the Pakistani Air Force. I flew into that

1:57.3

base. All of the Pakistani Air Force officers spoke the King's English.

2:01.6

It was a very strong historical tie to England and in the British Empire, if you will,

2:10.6

and they were professionals. But at that time, that was, you know, 28 years ago, the technology

2:15.6

that we're seeing in this video didn't exist then.

2:18.9

My supposition is that there's obviously some propaganda here and promote self-promotion,

2:25.4

but I think we would be wise to understand once again that we deflate the threat at our own

2:32.5

risk, and I think India is in that same category.
