of Democracies, about reports from Guam that Chinese nationals are turning up unannounced,

uninvited, without documentation, and attempting to enter the air base, or the bases there,

the centerpiece of the U.S. Pacific defenses.

The document that Cleo refers to is a posting by a commander of an air wing

about someone showing up asking for a dog park.

It's quite fantastic, but what does it mean?

There are flights from the mainland. You do not need a visa to enter the northern Marianas.

It's a boat ride from one to another, including Guam.

What are the Chinese nationals doing there? What do they want on an air base?

Yes, this was a Facebook post by the commander of 36th wing at Anderson Air Force Base.

And he wrote that, quote, we've had a significant uptip in numbers of attempted incursions onto our air base by citizens from non-allied nations, especially when we're hosting major exercises.

I know weird, right?

And what he says is, remark, he says, between you and me, the excuses we get from these people as they're trying to get through our gates are pretty weak.

Defender, where are you trying to get to on Anderson?

Interloper, to the dog park.
