This is John Batchel, a conversation with my colleague Chris Regal about Ohio in the most recent election,

electing Bernie Marino to be a United States senator and electing the vice president of the United States, Senator Vance.

What does this mean for the people of Ohio? What does it mean for the nation at this all of a sudden Ohio's strength in the Trump administration?

Chris has an interpretation that is easy to agree with.

It describes the future as well as the events of these last few days.

Absolutely.

Look, you know, I find it ironic that the people who wanted us to leave Afghanistan,

who were loudest about it,

are lamenting the, you know, lack of rights of women.

The Taliban, you're absolutely correct. rights of women. The Taliban, you're absolutely

correct. It's horrible. The women are non-entities in a Taliban-led Afghanistan. They can't go out

in public. They can't even speak or listen. I mean, what do the Taliban want to do? Just stuff

them in a box. It's absolutely absurd.

This administration at the very least can recognize the horrid human rights situation that exists for Afghanistan's women's and for any Afghan whooses the taliban regime and bring attention to that

stop funding the taliban you know you have all these americans particularly again people who

wanted the u.s to disengage from afghanistan now they want the u.s to remain engaged by

giving the taliban money don't give the money When I speak to Afghans who understand this,

Afghans within the resistance that have family members in Afghanistan,

they will say, do not give the Taliban money because all it does is supports,
