Here's Bill Whelan. Gavin Newsom has a future. Right now he has to look at what just happened in 2024 to his disappointment. More of this tonight.

I think he played the game properly in terms of defending Biden to the death. I mean, keep in mind when

Biden was out on the debate stage and

doddering along, Newsom was in the spin room at that debate, saying that he gave a masterclass in

debating and so forth. He was loyal to his guy, and that was a smart play at the time. But one thing

went wrong for his calculations. That was the idea that Biden would drop out of the race, and then

the Democrats would have an open conversation, an open convention,
