rallied across the country I recall reporting on it, gathering in Ottawa to protest the government's heavy-handedness

about rules during COVID crossing the border, making it very difficult for them to do their

work, crossing the the border all kinds of

challenges and tests it was the lifting of the COVID at that point the serum the

vaccinations were just beginning.

It's odd and strange that the government and the Prime Minister in particular treated the truckers as a threat

and denounced them in many instances. I remember I didn't follow it closely

but I did follow it day to day. And Conrad Blach comments that there was an inquiry.

It found for the government and then there was an appeal and now the inquiry is found that the government was wanting and there will be more

to say of these matters.

The answer in a word is no and the way it works in this country is there's a

statute called the Emergencies Act which is available to the federal government

in the case of a serious national emergency and this is the first time it's ever been used.

The previous measure was called the War Measures Act and it was invoked by this Prime Minister's

father Pierre Trudeau against the French

separatists in 1970 when they murdered the Vice Premier of Quebec and

captured he had kidnapped a diplomat.

And so this law was put in place,

it requires a special commission of inquiry

for every time it's imposed.
