This is John Batcher, a conversation with my colleague Ernesto Aruja, former Foreign Minister of the

Republic of Brazil, commenting on attending in Buenos Aires, Forum Madrid.

This is a meeting of what Ernesto introduces as Liberty thinkers, people who see Liberty

as in some fashion challenge throughout the Americas but especially in South America.

Javier Malay, the president of Argentina, working very hard to correct that troubled economy, speaks at for Madrid, and he speaks of the building it was taking

place in, the old post office in Buenos Aires, as Liberty Palace. This is a celebration. I learned for

Ernesto it's the second year and here he introduces its thinking, the thinking he

picked up from his time there he's attended this is the second or third

year he's attended all of them for Madrid in Buenos Aires in these last days here's Ernesto

later more tonight.

Well, John, this is a very important event.

That's the annual meeting of the forum Madrid.

Have been established two years ago.

I've been proud to be part of all the

previous meetings and this aims to be a platform for the discussion and action on freedom in the Americas and in Spain especially,

also in Europe as a whole. It's an initiative of the Vox Party of Spain,

the Conservative Party in Spain.

The venue was very significant.

It's the old Argentinian post office building, a marvelous early 20th century building which was transformed by the socialist government

into the Nestor Kircher a cultural center so the the socialist president who destroyed Argentina almost and now

Malay has just rebranded it as the Liberty Palace okay and I think it's not only lip service to liberty that Milay is paying. His policies and his convictions, his ideas, they are very solid as a model for Liberty in Latin America and maybe elsewhere in the 21st century.

And the Forum Madrid is also an effort to update the fight for freedom for the 21st century.
