However, the turning here is that this is part of the

It is considered northern Appalachia.

Appalachia actually begins in New York State and cuts a diagonal path all the way down to Mississippi.

And despite the, you know, sort of amount of miles and distance and different states

that it's in, the culture and traditions are very similar, no matter where you are in Appalachia.
