This is John Bachelor in conversation with my colleague Bill Rajo of the Foundation for Defense of democracies about the new UN report that Al Qaeda has expanded its number of training facilities, camps in Afghanistan from 10 to 12. In addition, there

are a variety of institutional presences throughout the country associated with Al Qaeda,

such as media centers, safe houses, madrasas, holding areas, transit

areas.

Build identifies here that Al Qaeda is not a one-off in Afghanistan, it's institutional, it's vast, it has

an infrastructure in Afghanistan in the ungoverned space of Afghanistan. Much of this will be critical in coming years because Al Qaeda is now

firmly established inside a country that given the last 20 years appears exempt from interference from outside.
