Oh my God. All right. So, you know, I was fishing for a particular kind of movie with this one.

You know, we did the Santa Claus. I don't remember how long ago it was. I know we did that one,

probably a few years ago. We've done jingle all the way. You know, these Christmas movies,

these kind of family movies where I watched them as a kid, loved them, but, you know, they only had one level to me. And, you know,

we watched the Santa Claus one, you know, however long ago it was. And if you don't remember,

you haven't seen the movie in a while, haven't listened to the episode, which, you know,

why would you? The ideology of the first Santa Claus is that Tim Allen, he accidentally kills

the real Santa, and then he occupies the office of Santa Claus,

which it's kind of like 007. It's like a codename or something. In doing this podcast,

Luke has found any anodyne children's movie from the 90s, any movie that is aimed at being

just a normal film, the middle of the middle of the middle, reveals a whole

ocean of ideology of the time. Because in trying to be completely inoffensive and innocuous,

it just picks up what are the assumption? Right, exactly. Centrist films are just like the,

you know, centrist political identity. To be a centrist is to think you know I'm I'm not on the

left or the right I don't believe in all of that I just believe in what works you know I

transcend ideology I'm too enlightened for you know such 20th century trifles as

ideology but of course in a way that is the most dogmatic and ideological position of

them all you know this fervent belief that

you don't actually have an ideology because what that attitude ultimately rests on is just a

whole bunch of untested assumptions, unexamined beliefs, orthodoxy and received wisdom,

and well, ideology. So that's why I think we're able to pry.

That's why we're holding 2002s the Santa Claus 2 accountable.
