This is John Batchelor, speaking with colleague Harry Siegel at the City, a senior editor also a columnist at the New York Daily News,

about the information that Mayor Eric Adams is under investigation not only by one federal group of authorities,

the Southern District, but also two, the Eastern District.

Why?

It's all very vague. There was a front-page story in the New York Times about Mayor

Adams when he was Borough President, taking trips to Turkey and accepting upgrades in his passengers.

I've been on Turkish Airlines, it's very comfortable, they serve hot food from the aisle.

The business class is acceptable, it's comfortable, but it's not lavish.

In any event, there's also an investigation about the mayor's trips to other countries, notably China.

Harry has a general way of understanding all this. We don't know where we're going, but it's up to the people

to decide, not the courts. Here's Harry Siegel to explain what we know so so what we can know so far about what Eric Adams

is either being investigated for will be accused of or nothing at all of this.

So did Adams do something New Yorkers are going to be upset about?

Probably not.

You can tell from how we're talking about this.

It gets weedy and it's hard to hold hold here's the one thing you really ought to

be bothered by. Is this legally unacceptable? I don't think the prosecutors know. I

think it just goes to court.

We'll find out, but it's an interesting open question and I think Adams is

modeling as he is on several things what it is executives can do now and some of the maybe

games they can play and the perks they can receive and the ways they can live like really

rich people that maybe aren't crimes now and it's just up to
