I highly recommend to take you back to the Baghdad War of the

beginning of the 21st century. Guyth grew up in Baghdad. He knows it very well. He knows the Sunni-Shia divide. He understands

all of the cities. And herein he gives us a very quick understanding of how the American presence confused all of the

Sunnis as one group confused all of the Sunnis with their approach towards the Shia of the

parts of Baghdad and the parts of the country that are sectarian.

It's a very good explanation.

What is puzzling is why the State Department,

the Department of Defense, the White House, did not have this explanation when they approached

the Sunnis in the Sunni awakening, when they treated the Sunnis as if they were monolithic. Here's Geith to explain. This is a painful part of
