Summary

President Biden addressed the nation from the White House on Monday, saying he stands by his decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan. While the President did admit that the fall of the country was quicker than expected, he blamed the Afghanistan government for allowing the Taliban to take over. Over the weekend Afghanistan's President Ashraf Ghani fled the region followed by the Taliban seizing control of the capital of Kabul leaving the world in shock.
