Prepare for the worst.

That may not be the most uplifting New Year's message heading into 2026.

But I mean it. Prepare for the worst. Happy New Year, everyone.

I hope you're having a wonderful holiday season.

And as we head into 2026, again, those words, those four words, prepare for the worst.

Be prepared for the worst when it comes to Trump.

When it comes to the shape this country is in, when it comes to the damage that Donald Trump may do in 26, when it comes to anything horrible, anything lawless, anything dangerous, anything violent,

anything un-American, he will try to do in 26. My message to all of us is be ready for,

prepare for the worst it's always been i think the biggest mistake we've all made the biggest failure we've all made in these Trump years, we've failed to imagine.

It's been a failure to imagine, a failure of imagination.

We fail to imagine how bad Trump would get, how low he would go, how un-American he would be, how dangerous, how ugly, how cruel,

how ignorant, how dishonest, how violent he would be.

We've failed to imagine in these years of Trump how bad he would be. And because we've all failed to imagine,

we've not been prepared for all the bad, horrible, ugly, cruel, un-American, traitorous,

anti-democracy, anti-democratic things he's done.

It's what led to January 6th. You've heard me say that before. None of us could imagine.

None of us could imagine that an American president would lose an election, refuse to accept the result,

refuse to concede, and then commit crimes trying to overthrow that election, that an American

president would lose an election and then incite a violent attempt to overthrow that election.

We never imagined that could happen.

And so it happened. And we weren't ready for it. We did not prepare for it. That's what I'm saying heading into 2026. Be ready for the worst so that we can defeat the worst.

Be ready for Trump to put the military on our streets,
