The Athletic. Hi there everyone and welcome to the athletics review of the

dramatic final day of the 2021-22 Premier League season my My name is Adam Leventhal. I do hope you're all well and you're just

sort of coming back down after that high drama. We are live on Twitter, on Facebook and on YouTube and over the next hour we're going to be joined by our dedicated

team of reporters who watched the drama unfold the day of twists and turns in the race for the title, the European

places and also the battle to avoid the drop as well.

It ended with Manchester City, crowned champions once again.

They're eight league title.

They're sixth in eight Premier League seasons.

They're fourth in the last five.

And all under Pep Guadiola, back to back titles once again for Pep Guadiola.

Liverpool runners up and for such a long time on that final afternoon, the thought of the quadruple was still there for them,

especially when Aston Villa were two-nill up at the Eti had and there was 76 minutes on the clock before that dramatic

comeback for Manchester City elsewhere.

Tottenham confirmed their place in the Champions League

with that thumping victory at Caro Road. They will be alongside Chelsea in the Champions League.

Arsenal and Manchester United are going to be in the Europa League and it's West Ham in the

Europa Conference League. they finished in seventh.

Then at the bottom it was drama all the way until the end wasn't it with Burnley losing at home

against Newcastle and going down and Leeds winning at Brentford to stay up in dramatic fashion.

We're going to be reflecting on all of that. Plus we're going to be looking at some of the best

individual performers as well

as the team performance of course of all those clubs that we cover in detail on the athletic.
