needs to be interpreted. This is about China's intention to bully the world into submission,

threatening not only with overwhelming force in the East China Sea, but worldwide

with its missile program. And there is one particular kind the missile. That gets more complicated because Brendan is now saying that the Chinese, having been

adept at manufacturing hypersonic missiles, have now manufactured a anti-hypersonic missile defense mechanism which is also technical language

Well, good evening, John and hello Gordon.

Thanks again for having me as always.

A hypersonic missile, as it sounds like, it's a very fast moving missile it can carry a variety of

ordinance from conventional explosives all the way up to nuclear weapons.

What makes it such a unique technology is not that it travels

really fast because of course missiles travel really fast. What makes it really

unique is that it can rapidly and unpredictably maneuver at random rates, changing

altitudes, staying in flight longer than a missile does, you know, radically

altering its its trajectory which makes defending against it

nearly impossible with existing anti-missile systems.

So it moves fast is this what they call a glide weapon or is that a different category?

Yeah, no that's part of the family of yeah hypersonic kill vehicles absolutely.

And it's air-launched or sea-launched?
