and we're looking at new numbers about the number of nuclear warheads nuclear weapons in the

world and what it means for the conflict in Europe, the conflict in the Pacific, the 21st century.

We welcome Rick Fisher of the International Assessment and Strategy Center. Rick, I read off

the list of nuclear powers right now according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.

Is there any state that should be added to that list at least tentatively? Good evening to you, Rick.

Good evening, John. Good evening, Gordon. There are states that would like to be on that list,

but there are none that I would add today. But we have to keep an eye on, let's say, Cuba,

Singapore, South Africa has dabbled in this before. Taiwan, of course, South Korea have in

previous decades wanted nuclear weapons. So the list is what it is today, but next year,

the year after it could be larger. According to the numbers from Cypri, the Stockholm International

Peace Research Institute, there are 12,512 nuclear warheads in the world, an estimated 9576

of Elba for potential use, which means that since January 2022, right before the European war,

the number of warheads is grown by 86. Is that a significant growth year to year, Rick?
