contest with the People's Republic of China.

This has to do with supply chains.

And those supply chains have to do with a bevy of words, all of which point to the same

thing.

Reshoring, unshoring, near-shoring, friend-shoring.

I understand an article in the Wall Street Journal recently pointed to the US not preparing

adequately for moving the supply chain from over-concentration on China to alternative sources.

Is that your measure of the land?

Has the US been slow to respond to this?

Are there workarounds?

And I'm sure that Washington could be more on the ball when it comes to this issue

than it is now.

But one reason that I think that this matter hasn't been treated with the urgency that

that Wall Street Journal article claims is that other very low-income countries already

enjoy major trade breaks with the United States because of preferential agreements that

they signed long ago, principally NAFTA, which gave Mexico preferential trade breaks and

the trade agreement from 2006 with the countries of Central America.
