We turn to an incident in these last days that requires much interpretation.

Two warships, one US, one Canada, in the Taiwan Strait, and then an additional warship,

for the People's Liberation Army Navy, deliberately provokes them by sailing undangously in front

at the bow of both craft.

Why?

It's the Taiwan Strait, and Gordon and I welcome James Fonell.

He is going to help us understand not only how dangerous this was, but his expectation

of what comes next.

James is a government fellow at the Geneva Center for Security Policy.

He's retired US Navy captain.

He served as Director of Intelligence and Information Operations of the US Pacific Fleet.
