colleague and co-host and we're very pleased to welcome our colleague James

Finel, U.S. Navy Captain Retired Intelligence to help

us sort through the information coming from incidents in the South China Sea in these last

days involving the so-called PLA, that's People's

Liberation Army Navy Coast Guard and the Filipino nationals attempting to resupply the Sierra Madre ship in the South China Sea,

which is at this moment still there, making it very clear these are Filipino waters and the

Chinese are intruders. James, you've sent me a series of photographs that

demonstrate we're dealing with Warcraft, double-hulled Coast Guard vessels, launching ribs, rigid hull,

inflatable boats similar to what Special Forces use in order to intimidate and which you'd have to say

deny the Philippines the ability to resupply its own people. What am I looking at, James, what are these different boats? What do you see from the photographs?

What I see from these images that were just put online by the Chinese government

through their mouthpiece of Global Times, I see the Chinese using what we term in the West,

gray zone warfare to control and intimidate the Philippines

and to essentially implement Chinese policy, which is now stated in their press

that they will not allow the Philippines to permanently occupy

any feature inside the South China Sea.

So as we recall in 2016, the permanent court of arbitration ruled that the Philippines

case that was brought in 2013 against the PRC's claim of the South, 9-line and ownership of the South China Sea was invalid and illegal.
