G. Chang, the pandemic in China. Over these last days, the reporting anecdotally is that

the mainland is overwhelmed. The hospitals are overwhelmed. The crematoriums are overwhelmed

yet we learn, according to reporting coming out of China, that the government, the authorities

have reportedly suspended or closed the social media accounts in more than 1,000 critics

of its policies on the COVID-19 outbreak. We know worldwide that whenever authority that

is government moves against a website or a social media platform, that's what everybody

wants to know. Why do you do this? What do they know that you don't want us to know? So

I welcome Charles Burton of the McDonald's Lowry Institute to comment first on how the Chinese

government doesn't understand when you derive people of information. That's what there's

certain. They're going to go and find because you're not working with their best interests.

Charles, the American desk in Beijing puzzles me. However, you're comment on closing these

critics down. The stories out of China are horrible. Everybody knows it. You don't need

a social media website to tell you that the crematoriums are overwhelmed. Good evening,
