There are hundreds of thousands of Chinese national young people in America for secondary school, for primary school, and for

university and beyond. That's been a well-known program established many years I can

remember back in the 90s traveling to my

alma mater and seeing something I didn't know was happening. This is the late

90s. Lots of young Chinese people speaking Mandarin at the at the dinky that's the train you take to meet up from college to the

the Pennsylvania or ever going to Philadelphia.

And I thought at the time this is unusual.

Now it's pretty standard throughout the country everywhere.

However, there seems to be an inconsistency.

Why has the number... there seems to be an inconsistency.

Why has the number fallen away these last years

and why isn't it growing again after the pandemic?

issue really is that the US embassy in Beijing has been engaged in a major program what they call increasing people to people

exchanges. I think it can be a very effective tool to actually reach the Chinese
