to the strange language used by the Chinese Communist Party to project fear into its own population and the region.

We have a headline in Reuters that requires interpretation.

China is she, that's the general secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, a dictator, calls for

strong border defenses ahead of PLA anniversary.

China's president has called for the building of strong borders, sea and air defenses to protect

the country's territorial sovereignty and maritime interest, the official Xinhua News Agency reported within these last hours.

Gordon, what does this mean?

Is there a threat to sovereignty in the mainland?

I thought it was the other way around.

They're the ones that crushed

Hong Kong and are threatening Taiwan help me understand this. John nobody threatens

China's recognized borders but China believes that it should be controlling more territory than is

recognized by its neighbors and the international community. So for instance, it

maintains what is now a 10-dash line, what's called the Kowztung, which encompasses

about 80 to 85 percent of the South China Sea.

Now, it includes territory of the Philippines of Malaysia even of Indonesia and so if you

believe as Cijmpang does that these territories are part of China, then protecting them in his terminology

is actually annexing them from other parties.

In other words, aggression.
