Joined by my colleague and co-host Gordon Chang, who's traveling, he's in Japan, and we're very pleased to welcome

our colleague in Tokyo, Lance Gatling, a principal in Nexial research, to comment on events

of these last days that seem at once ordinary but momentous in terms of the 20th century's adversaries.

I'm meeting in Busan, South Korea, foreign ministers of Japan, Kamakawa, of China,

foreign minister and chief diplomat Wangi, and the South Korean Foreign Minister Park-Chin, altogether

in a trilateral meeting.

Gordon, I'm most struck by the irony of South Korea sitting at a table with Japan facing the polite offices of the

Wolf warrior himself Wang Yi. Is this something we could have imagined in the 20th century

South Korea and Japan sitting together? Good evening to you Gordon. Good evening

John. I think we could have imagined it but in the previous South Korean administration of Munjayin,

they treated Japan like an enemy. And so Japanese, South Korean,

getting together,

it's not impossible, but certainly was not very often.

And indeed, when it did occur, there was a lot of animosity.

Now under Junsujolio, the new South Korea and

president, Japan and South Korea are working very closely together and that's a

major step forward for the forces of freedom in the region.
