to comment on an odd story.

This is the BBC reporting that Chinese state media is following the Trump administration's

doge, I suppose, but in any event plowing into questions of programming as if Chinese state media is MSNBC. It's very odd. So I need

Steve to explain this. Steve, we've got the BBC, we've got Chinese state media, we've got the

voice of America, we have the Trump administration and Doge. Does China ordinarily report on this kind of detail? Because it sounds a whole

lot like, oh, a slow day at MSNBC. Good evening to you. Good evening, John. It does, in fact,

have echoes of that. But my strong suspicion is this is what the Chinese Communist Party would like to do in

trying to propagate and highlight divisions within the United States, try to play up perceptions

of chaos and disagreement. And so I think that basically this is part of a pretty standard information warfare

propaganda campaign that they would engage in. I doubt very much that they would like the Chinese

people to have anything remotely like Doge look into where the finances are going from the

Communist Party, more importantly, where the finances are going into the Communist Party and away from the people.

Does the Chinese listener know what the voice of America is or know what Doge is?

Are they kept up to date here because this just happened in America?

Yeah, I doubt very much that they have tracked the comings and goings of Voice of America,

furloughs, and the budget argument.
