Wichert, the author most recently of BioHacked China's

race to control life. To help us understand this story, Brandon, I mentioned that Lee

Chiang, the late Lika Chang, premiere for 10 years and his passing momentarily

was a great attention getting in China, is associated with a policy once

known as 2025. That was before Belt and Road Initiative. 2025, I remember, was an ambition to dominate 10 key industries

associated with technology and high-end production,

develop them in China so that there was no need for trade or barter or competition

with people outside of China. This looks like a version of it. What does it mean

patent holders? What does it mean that Huawei and Tencent are holding these patents?

Good evening to you. Good evening and thanks for having and that which I've been worried about, which is that China's been investing for many, many, many years in their indigenous kind of stem capabilities, that that might be bearing fruit finally because now it looks like their indigenous

high-tech firms are starting to get a dominant position in global patents.

And what that means is that they are starting to innovate

indigenously a lot more and much more

proficiently than they were before, especially now that America has imposed these onerous high technology

sanctions.

So it's something that is another indicator that whatever may be going on in wider China their tech sector is getting more

and more competitive even as we are putting increased pressure on them.
