Changi's six Bob what is the scale of the Moon returned to Earth. Changi's six. Bob, what is the scale of the achievement here?

I think it's pretty big. China has now done two sample return missions from the

mode and they've both got their samples back to Earth

successfully at least we think so. The second mission, the first one went to the

near side of the Moon and brought back samples. They've already been

researched on Earth and distributed to a lot of science

organizations worldwide, not the US. But Tanging 6 went to the far side of the

moon and this week it's headed back to Earth and it appears that at the start of this week the

sample capsule landed in China I've got a picture of them working on the

capsule after it's landed and they're now in the process of getting those

samples out and into curated facilities where they can be studied.

This is a big deal.

China does, and it's once it gets us things off the ground, its space projects have consistently worked.

They've done a very good job. They have a very good track record.

And so they've now gotten their second sample returns back from the

moon and they've done it from the far side of the moon which nobody else has ever

done so that's I think that's an achievement. You have a photograph on behind the

black of the return capsule it It looks all burn up. Why, Bob?

This capsule was coming back from the moon. So what that means is it was coming, hitting

the atmosphere at a much higher velocity than things from Earth orbit.
