I think one of the most rewarding times I ever had as a parent was when unexpectedly

just without even being prompted one of my kids got up and started cleaning the table.

It was like we finished the meal and he got up and boom, he's already cleaning the kitchen.

I didn't expect that and it really delighted me.

All we could do is kind of fumble over our thank you.

It's like, wow, good job, champ, yeah, way to go.

And it sounds false almost, but that affirmation,

as I was telling that story. So how do you relate to that?

That's fantastic. Those are moments for going wow that was fantastic. Those are moments you were going, wow, that was amazing.

I love the fact that they made that decision on their own.

And did you know that as adults we make around 35,000 decisions a day.

No way.

That's that.

And then young children, it's 3,000.

Now, we're bound to make some poor decisions out of 35,000, right?

And when we see our kids making good decisions, that is so exciting.

And I was thinking back at what decisions have my kids made that have just stood out?

And the most obvious one is when they decided to follow Jesus.

I mean, that is amazing to watch them make ongoing decisions of following Jesus along the way and one of them that my daughter made just in the last year so she decided to get up earlier so that she could have her own devotional time.
