the other Matt Brown, because we have one at The Athletic, and this is the other one who runs

his own newsletter, extra points.

And Matt, I am so excited that you're here because we are a couple weeks into NIL, and I feel

like you are the expert on

name image and likeness and really like testing it out because you've actually hired college

athletes. So I am so excited to have you here recording this like across Chicago. No, this is my

pleasure. This is the kind of thing that I'm super interested in and there's not always as many outlets that really want to get into the weeds about how this stuff actually works.

So this is exciting. Hopefully we can all learn something.

So I wanted to start with actually, you know, how in the weeds you have gotten on NIL over the

last couple of years because it's definitely an in the weeds topic. And, you know, we've covered that a little

bit on power hour. But I think that it's been important to understand like kind of all the

intricacies before it actually starts because I think there have been a lot of people who still

think this is only going to be like the star quarterback at Alabama. So why did you dive into it so much

over the last couple of years? And like what did you learn leading up to July 1?

I'm sure.

So, I mean, my whole beat for my newsletter is to really dig into the off-the-field stuff that shapes college athletics.

So that's going to be a lot of business stories.

It's a lot of local political stories.

And that's kind of been the through line since I started this about a year and a half ago has been name image and liked it.
