Welcome to the Athletic Football Show.

0:05.4

I'm Robert Mays.

0:06.8

Mention this on the recap shows this weekend,

0:09.1

but we wanted to spend some time today

0:10.9

just doing some half post-mortems,

0:13.9

half what comes next sets of questions

0:16.3

for the teams that lost this weekend.

0:18.9

So on this show, we've got the five losers from the weekend,

0:23.2

the Carolina Panthers, the Green Bay Packers, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Philadelphia Eagles,

0:26.9

and the Los Angeles Chargers. The loser of Monday's game, which we do not know yet, because

0:32.6

we're recording this at about 4 o'clock on Monday, we're going to tackle that team and that version of this conversation

0:38.5

on that Monday night recap. And so that's now, that's why we did not hit the loser of the

0:43.3

Monday night game among this group. But the other five teams, we tried to just hit on their

0:48.2

biggest questions this off season, some of the resources that they're going to have, what sort

0:51.8

of changes might be coming, really enjoyed this conversation with Derek Classen.

0:56.4

Let's get to it right now.

1:03.1

We alluded to this on both recap shows that we did this weekend.

1:06.8

We're going to spend some time on Monday doing sort of post-mortems of sort, but also just looking forward at what needs to change, what the priority should be like for all of the teams that lost to this weekend.

1:21.0

Bellar sent me some initial notes about the layout and some details about each team.

1:24.9

And I was like, what order is this in?

1:26.1

It's the order they were eliminated in. So that's what we're going to do today. We're going to go through all five teams that were eliminated from playoff contention this weekend and just chat about what their future might look like. I'm pretty excited for this. I think when I went into this, I was, I think when you come out of the games, you assume whatever you're going to think about this team is going to be a little bit more complicated than it is. But then I kind of dug into a lot of these. And for the most part, other than maybe the last team we're going to talk about, I felt like what I kind of thought actually coming out of the game is about where I landed after doing a little bit more research digging, trying to look forward. So as you were starting this process about the Panthers, what was like the first thought that came to your mind?

2:03.8

Really cool story.
