Hello there, I'm Chuck Todd. I just got off the meat depressed set from Sunday here and

it is still Sunday where I wrapped up interviews with Dr. Anthony Fauci. And I had exclusive

interviews with the Mississippi governor, Tate Reeves, a Republican and former Trump personal

attorney and self-described fixer, Michael Cohen. And I'll tell you this, we covered a ton

of different issues in this show today. We covered fairly thoroughly abortion and the

big case in Mississippi. We got to the Amod Arbery decision and what that means for criminal

justice reform overall and what do we do about counties. In smaller counties that basically

sweep this sweep things under the rug too much. We got to some Thanksgiving travel issues

and broke down the impact of what could happen with abortion. And also had Michael Cohen

and talked a lot of things about what could Trump face criminally in his various legal

battles. But obviously, COVID is the dominant story. And Dr. Fauci seemed to want to use

this moment. He said he hopes it's a clarion call for the to get the vaccine. And I think

that's the question here. Look, he said the reason to shut down the borders was to from

those countries was to quote by time. It wasn't pretending that the variant isn't coming

here. It was simply to by time to find out how dangerous is this variant. Hopefully we'll

know soon and whether our vaccines are effective against this variant. He seems to assume that

they will be some at least effective in preventing death and severe hospitalization. So he was

using that a day way to go forward there. And I think one thing we didn't get into a little

bit of vaccine mandates. But look, he is not a political actor despite what many people

may think of Dr. Fauci. So he stays away from political decisions. But you got to wonder.

And I've had some conversations off the record with some folks. You got to wonder if the

White House doesn't get out in front and gack on the bully pulpit again, pushing vaccines.
