Liverpool's vitally important two-nill win over Chelsea. It was a win that moved

the Reds back to the top of the table after Manchester City won 31 at

Crystal Palace earlier in the day and on to 85 points which would have been enough

to claim nine previous Premier League titles. We will start as always with the

definitive verdicts on the action from our Liverpool FC correspondent James Pierce.

Well what a response this was to Liverpool being knocked off at the top of the Premier League table by Manchester City earlier today.

The Reds regaining top spot and they did it in some style as they beat Chelsea here at Anfield for the first time since 2012, well and truly exercising those demons of 2014.

You know, there's been some big wins and real massive performances in this title challenge, but I think

you'd have to put that one today almost in a class of its own because in recent weeks we've talked about

Liverpool grinding out results and just the sheer blooded-mindedness of this side to

stay in the race but today was all about awe inspiring.
