Hello there, I'm Chuck Todd. I just stepped off the Meet the Press set. Today's

interviews included Senator Bob Menendez. He's chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee,

Republican Senator Kevin Kramer. Both coincidentally happen to be sitting on the banking committee.

I'm not going to tell you that we look them because of that at the time, but it became

sadly quite useful by Friday morning. I also welcome Sheila Baer, the former chair of the

Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, better known as the FDIC. She ran the FDIC during the last

financial crisis. We obviously covered the Silicon bank, Valley Bank, collapsed pretty extensively

with that line up this week, sitting here now with Jonathan Martin. He's the politics bureau chief

and senior political columnist at Politico. I'm going to ask him how there is a politics bureau chief

at a publication about politics. I'm going to give him a hard time about that. His column this

week is all about the Republican primary field, shaping up to be two Florida men versus everybody else

at least for now. The Republican hope is starting to split their attacks between the two, Mr. Martin.

I'm sorry. The politics bureau chief title. I mean, I thought political covered politics. I am

what is that mean? You're the bureau chief of politics. I am lucky to have a column at Politico. It is

a fantastic gig. Chuck, I'm trying to revive the reported column. It used to be a mainstay of

journalism in Washington and sort of faded with time. I'm having a lot of fun doing it.

Write my own voice and sort of off my own insights, but not based upon just my own sort of

rant based upon reporting and traveling and talking to folks all over the country. So it's been a

lot of fun. But the title, politics bureau chief, you know, I'm happy to take whatever they want to

give me, but I'm writing a column at Politico. It's fun. Long as the paycheck clears, right? That's
