Summary

Latino USA is on summer break this week so we wanted to share one of our favorite recent interviews that we originally broadcast in early 2020. In this conversation with Maria Hinojosa, legendary musician José Feliciano opens up about why he keeps the 70s alive and also describes one of his favorite relationships—the one he has with his guitar.

1:03.6	When I first met Jose Feliciano, it was the year 1986.
1:08.5	It was a concert of his in Southern California and I was doing my first ever interview with him.
1:15.1	Now, at that time Jose Feliciano was one of the most famous Latinos that I had ever met.
1:21.2	And what I remember the most was that he wasn't afraid to be himself.
1:26.0	He was eccentric and a true Bohemian artist that was truly one incredible guitarist.
1:41.9	I'm on darling, lie, my fire, by the set that I'm on fire.
1:51.2	And that air of confidence translates musically to everything Jose touches.
