Summary

Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders and elite development coach Vitor Matos are a crucial part of Jurgen Klopp's backroom team. But little is known about the pair - particularly the latter. So, for this special Blood Red podcast, Matt Addison picks up the phone to Jose Tavares, a coach who has occupied plenty of roles within FC Porto's youth academy over the years, and who worked with both Lijnders and Matos while they were at the Portuguese club. 1:06.5	And because Jose has been at Porto for so many years in a variety of roles, he's also worked with another of Liverpool's battling team, Vito Matos, who arrived towards the back end of last year.
1:17.0	Five years younger than Liners, Matos is seen as the next one who could make the big step towards the first team anytime soon.
1:25.0	At the moment he works as a kind of bridge between the Academy and the first team, but his background
1:29.4	is in youth development.
1:31.0	But Matos could well be promoted into a more senior role just like Linders in the coming years.
1:36.0	Either way, they both have fascinating backstories, and Jose has plenty of tales to tell about both of them.
