| 0:00.0 | Hey there. I am Gary Parrish. Welcome back to CBS. College basketball podcast where we sometimes discuss Campbell Fighting Dodo Birds, Leaky Black. David Cobb is here with me. |
| 0:25.3 | If you watch it on YouTube, there's only one way to honor Brandon Davies. |

| 0:36.6 | Let's get into it. |
| 0:39.3 | It's been four days now since Michigan won the 2006 NCAA tournament, 69-63 victory over Yukon. Since then, I have |
| 0:46.8 | traveled home. Since then, David Cobb has traveled home. And since then, the Wolverines have |
| 0:51.6 | bolstered their front court that is definitely losing one star, or probably losing two and could lose all three. |
| 0:59.2 | We'll get to that in a moment. |
| 1:00.5 | But the headline on this morning is that Michigan has secured a commitment from Tennessee Transfer, JP. Estrella. |
| 1:08.8 | David Cobb, good to see you on this Friday morning. Dusty |
| 1:11.8 | May and his staff have turned transfer bigs into first round picks in consecutive years with Danny |
| 1:19.3 | Wolf and at least a dimara. Is J.P. Estrella? Is he going to be the first? I mean the next. |
| 1:26.1 | By first, I mean next the next. And by first, I mean next. |
| 1:29.5 | Yes, it's crazy because Tennessee's last game of the season, J.P. Estrella's last |
| 1:34.3 | game as a volunteer came against these Michigan Wolverines. |
| 1:37.5 | And I'm going to venture to guess it wasn't his performance in that game that switched |
| 1:41.8 | the light ball bond for Michigan staff. |
| 1:43.5 | I'm going to, I'm going to guess they had already done their advance work on J.P. Estrella before that meeting, because if that game was all you're going off of and you're a Michigan fan and you're like, wait, that guy, that's the one we're bringing in to replace this convoy of Biggs. I'd be a little underwhelmed. But if you look at the body of work, GP, I actually think J.P. Estrella compares pretty nicely to Mores Johnson Jr. in the way he plays, right? Because you look at Yaxel, you look at Marez, you look at a daimara, you're like, all right, which of these players does J.P. Estrella profile the most closely to it? It definitely is not Yaxil. definitely not yaxel. And I don't think it's a Diomara either because J.P. Estrella has not shown that elite like paint protection sort of ability. Now granted, a lot of times he was playing next to Felix Ocpara at Tennessee. And Ocparra was that elite rim protector. So J.P. Estrella was more off the ball in terms of being, And, you know, he wasn't always defending the fives. He wasn't always the last line of defense there at the rim. But if you look at their, their offensive profiles, J.P. Estrella, 60% field goal shooter on post-ups, according to Synergy. That's pretty comparable to Marez Johnson Jr. 56.4% on post-ups according to synergy. |
| 2:52.4 | And then at the rim, I think, is where there's a little bit of a difference. |
| 2:55.3 | Tennessee fans would tell you that J.P. Estrella was a little disappointing at times at the |
| 3:00.0 | rim against some of the bigger opponents on Tennessee's schedule. |
