We will begin with numbers released late last week.

That jobs report, U.S. job growth slowed in October, coming in well short of the economists' expectation while the unemployment rate was unchanged.

The Labor Department on Friday reported that employers only added 12,000 jobs in October

well below the 113,000 gain that was predicted by most economists in the lowest tally since

December of 2020. The unemployment rate was 4.1%. I was kind of in line with expectations.

The number of jobs added in the prior two months were both revised

downward with job creation in August, revised down by 81,000 from a gain of 159,000 to 78,000,

while September was revised down by 31,000 from a gain of 254,000 to 223,000. That's just every

single month these jobs reports come through. They're always

revising previous months reported, reported trends downward. That 12,000 job creation number,

that's only due to public sector hiring. If it weren't for the government, these jobs are all

lost leaders. If it weren't for government hiring jobs, the U.S. job report would not be in the black.

The Biden-Harris acting secretary of labor, Julie Sue, joined CNN to react.

That's a pretty big slowdown.

Well, as you noted, there were a couple of anomalies in the prior months.

But the overall picture of the economy

remained strong. No, it's not. That's some North Korean pink lady BS right there. Donald Trump

during a rally in Lancaster, Pennsylvania yesterday, seized on those new numbers.
