So the last episode was just laying the table on what exactly we're talking about here with this corruption. But now let's look at it from a biblical perspective. Tom Askell from Founders Ministry, and then I wrap up here with some of the prophets from the Old Testament that I think, I would say shockingly line up well, but we shouldn't be shocked by this at all. Hey, good to see you, Mike. Thanks for having me back on. Yeah, it's an honor. Tell me how we, Christians, should look at

government corruption. First of all, should we be surprised? And then what should we do with it after that?

Yeah, well, we shouldn't be surprised in the sense that we live in a fallen world. And so

government is made up of people and people are sinners and so we shouldn't be surprised

when they sin however we shouldn't be complacent about it either especially here in the

United States where we have a constitutional republic in a country that was founded upon the

very foundation of Christianity so yeah we should hold our government officials accountable.

Like all creatures made in God's image, they're accountable to keep God's commandments.

And like those that serve in the civil arena, they're accountable to fulfill their duties,

as Romans 13 calls them, God's deacons or God's servants to do good to the citizens of the civil arena where

they serve.
