Good afternoon from Washington. I'm Chuck Todd and this is the Chuck Todd cast. Well, it

was a split-screen night here in the district. I'm being generous. The Nationals won the

penance, sweeping the St. Louis Cardinals, heading to their first-ever World Series, the

first World Series in Washington, DC, since 1933. Think about that. FDR just coming into the

White House. And so I don't know how split-screen it really was. But I'll pretend it was split-screen.

So the Democrats took the debate stage outside of Columbus, Ohio. We're going to talk about

what we learned from the fourth primary debate. I actually watched it this morning. So I went

to the game. I will admit that, but I did watch and listen to it this morning. And yes,

it suddenly we went from two front runners to one. Elizabeth Warren apparently is the

lone front runner if you just came from Mars and watched that debate last night. Back in

Washington, the impeachment inquiry continues taking up all the oxygen as Nancy Pelosi announces

that House Democrats aren't going to take a formal vote. Yeah. And new tea-tales continue to emerge

every day about how officials at the State Department and the National Security Council were both

sideline by what was going on with Ukraine and the so-called three Amigos. And suddenly now are

the ones that seem to be talking the most. Later in the show, we joined by Peter Marks. He's the

theater critic of the Washington Post to talk about the performance at last night's debate. This

time, I love that the Post has been trying to do this. It's like, okay, if journalists want to be

theater critics for debates, then let's let a theater critic actually do it. So we're going to talk

to Peter about that. But first, I'm joined today by my colleague, the one and only Katie Ture,

plus Anita Kumar, White House correspondent, associate editor at Politico, and an old colleague
