He was shot in the neck in the line of duty, severely injured.

He was in such bad shape that he died multiple times and had to be revived and resuscitated by medical teams.

Reports are he had 33 units of blood given to him during the procedures.

And then, after recovering, he was physically unable to return to police work, but his battles

continue on.
