Hello, my fellow historians. Welcome to the Christmas edition of History of Westeros.

Let's slow on this Christmas.

Yeah, winter is no longer coming.

Yeah, my shirt is a lie. Winter is absolutely here. I guess there's a few of you out there

that live in extremely warm places. But even those warm places are probably a little less warm right

now. It feels like the coldest Christmas we've had in a while. It's also, I think the, I don't

think we've done a stream on Christmas before. If we have, it's been quite some time,

so long that I don't recall. But yeah, things look a little different today. If you're watching,

at least you can see that I'm not wearing headphones. That's because we don't have any

shons today. Not one shon. Not a single shon. We are shonless. That's a lot of lost presents,

but it is Christmas. So you understand that he's doing family stuff. So we understand that. That's

cool. But we'll keep it going. We have things to talk about. We have a great topic today that's

very much on point, very much right in line with that Christmas spirit. And we still have our regular

contributors. A lot of you all here live. Maybe we'll send some questions in and add to discussion.

And of course, our top contributor, our invaluable good queen Ali, that's Nina,

latest post on her blog, is talking about the high septin and poor fellows and the inclusion of

women. And while the, faith the seven is very patriarchal, like most of Westeros, there is a

couple of interesting things about it that make it less so from its conception and more so from

just how it's run. And what I mean by that, what she means by that is taking note of who the

deities are. God in say the Western Christian sense is male in the traditional sense. Not

not everybody sees it that way, but that's just typically how it's presented. But in Westeros,

the seven are not. The seven is seven aspects of one god. And those aspects are equally feminine
