And whatever you Canadians do, you too. Canada Day. What what is Canada Day? Mitch? It's the day we threw tea at the

1:35.9

voyages. Yep. Same thing. Same thing. Yeah. It's the day we went. Hey, um, could we be our own country? No. Okay. Sorry. And you did it three days before America did. Did we ever separate? No, no, we're still part of the monarchy. Yeah. Okay.

So I think it's I think it's a boot a boot time for a revolution. Hey. Yeah, can we sell it right now? That's all right. You guys are okay. I guess everyone's too nice to rebel. It is true. It is true.

2:08.2

What's the maple syrup? Yeah, actually, go ahead. Hook me up. All right. Uh, hi. I'm as where it's at. It's this pretty slow week. Yeah. You're an IGN. It's Holly Xbox. Yeah. Holiday week. Uh, everybody is in and out of the

office. Some people taking vacation. Not us though. No, we're working hard as opposed to hardly working. Destin, you are craft. You're cooking up some good stuff for us right now. Yes. Yeah, working on a few projects. You and I went and played some black lists. That's right. That was the most fun I've had playing a

2:39.6

game in a long time. There is so good. There is a lot to like for sure. Um, we're going to have some details on specifically the co-op mode for you. Coming up in the in the next week, the week after. Um, what is the exact, I think it's Thursday, right? 11. Yes, Thursday, the 9 am, I believe. Pacific time. Mitch, what have you been working on? I may or may not also have some

3:02.6

fun or sell stuff in the works. Oh, look at us. Indeed. Indeed. Um, other than that, just news. Good. Didn't the news thing with Andrew. What's going on with yourself? Uh, I'll tell you later. Oh, it's just tells now.

3:17.2

We're not recording or anything. I'm going strong now. We're going to do some stuff with them. Cool. Well, I had the unique opportunity of sitting down at E3. So for months, I've been, I've

3:28.6

been talking to Bungie. Yeah, actually more than that. I mean, the ever since I started in this business, which was 11 years ago, it's always every time there's a new Bungie project starts. It's, you know, you make, we kind of make the wish list of what we want to do with the game. Yeah, every time that the top of the wish list is, I want to talk to Jason Jones. He is the, he is the co-founder of Bungie. He's sort of the creative mastermind of all their, their games. He's the guy that's sort of credited with, with inventing

3:58.6

Halo's secret sauce. Yeah, it's formula of fun. Stick your heads. Yeah. And, you know, two weapons system and all that stuff. So, uh, but he, he doesn't give interviews ever. Uh, I dare you to go on Google and try and find one. Cause it's in 2005. He was named, but they, he wouldn't, he refused. He's such a sort of humble guy. He doesn't like the spotlight. Yeah. He wouldn't even refuse to be named personally as one of the.

4:28.5

Time 100 most influential people in 2005, instead it was credited to the Halo Trinity of him, Marcus Lito, and another guy at Bungie, who I can't remember right now.

4:41.2

It was probably Jamie. He never gives in. It wasn't doesn't like the spotlight and was never named one of the guys, but we have an interview with them. We're putting them in the spotlight and we're naming him. Yes, the Halo guy. Yes, take that.

4:52.8

So, yeah, finally, it is my, it is, it actually has been a career long goal to speak with them. Cause as you know, Mitch, I think I know you agree. Like sitting down with, with, with the creators of some of our favorite games is one of the best parts of our job is my favorite thing to really get into the minds of these people. And what it is that makes them take in how they Jesus destined. I'm just breaking the podcast studio. The microphone off the table. All right. All right. So we'll just just keep going.

5:22.8

All right. We're going to keep going. But yeah, you know, it's, it is, it's getting into the minds of these people is fascinating. Yeah, most of the time. Sometimes it's like, they don't, they're just, they're on a script. Yeah, they're, they're too PR trained or whatever. And it's just like, well, my game's awesome because blah, blah, blah. And every game, every sentence starts with the name of the game. Yeah, because that's what their PR person told them to do. Well, splinter cell black is a great game. And the splinter cell series featuring Sam. You can never use the pronoun it. It always has

5:52.8

to be game name. Yeah. But in any case, so yeah, I've been wanting to talk to Jason forever. And finally got the chance to do that unexpectedly. During E3, it was, this had been talked about for a while. We've been going, I've been going back and forth with bungee. It's like, they've been saying, okay, we're working on Jason trying to get him to it. He'll, he'll see, he'll do it after E3. Like, okay, great. After the game is out there finally. And during E3, I get a phone call. It says, what are you doing tomorrow morning?

6:22.8

This was, this was on the Monday of, yeah, Monday of E3. So the next day being the first day of E3, what are you doing tomorrow morning? Are you free for breakfast?

6:33.3

Uh, I guess so. Yeah. And so I got whisked away in a car to an unknown location. And turned out to be the hotel bungee was staying at and got to sit down. I was told what it was on the way. Yeah. But turn out, yeah, I got to, I got to sit down, have breakfast with Jason Jones for about an hour and 20 minutes.

6:52.8

Or so, recorded the whole thing. It's, I won't be posting the audio though. It's not, you know, it's rough. And it's all you hear mostly. Yeah, it's mostly pancakes and silverware on the background.

7:05.3

But yeah, I've got a, what is, it'll be, of course, done by the time anybody hears this podcast. But it is currently 4,000 words and counting.
