Summary

In this episode we take a much-needed break from politics and dedicate the majority of the episode to taking a walk down Movie-Memory Lane. We begin the year we each saw our very first movie in a theater (1977), and then list the films we remember seeing, why we enjoyed them, and how they impacted us. We make it to 1987, and will pick up from there in our next episode.

what's up hey how's it going it's going good how's it going for you i've been i've been mean

0:07.1

to ask you are you sleeping better because you you couldn't sleep you know when your mom was around

0:11.9

because you had to like get up and take her to the bathroom and move the night and stuff yeah i'm

0:17.5

sleeping pretty good like i'm um like i can like I'm not doing that thing where I wake up after being asleep for four hours to go to the bathroom or not even to go to the bathroom. It's like I wake up for just to turn over or something and realize I could pee. And if I could pee and I'm awake right now, I may as well, because I'm going to be

0:38.1

woken up by this in two more hours. And then you go and then you can't go back to sleep. So, yeah, I've been sleeping way better. Like, I think I woke up today. Like, I don't think I even, I think I slept straight through the night. Like a... Really? So when, like, you closed your eyes fell asleep and didn't wake up until morning.

0:56.1

I think.

0:57.3

That's crazy.

0:59.0

Pretty good, huh?

0:59.6

Like, I wake up every single time I have to roll over, which is like probably eight, nine times a night.

1:07.9

So when you look, because I wear an app a watch, it tracks my sleep,

1:11.2

and I can look and see, and it'll show me like, oh, you're awake for 12 minutes, you had REM for

1:16.3

an hour and 10 minutes, you had core sleep for four hours and 54 minutes, and you had deep sleep

1:21.5

for 52 minutes. Like, that was like pretty much what I had today. And I checked this every day.

1:31.2

And my only thought is like, none of that's true,

1:36.3

but it's impressive. Yeah. It's impressive that it tricks you into thinking it can measure this when it can't. But it shows like these, like I get these little red spikes for each time I woke up

1:42.9

in the middle of the night. And every night,

1:44.8

it's eight, nine, ten of them. And I know they're real because I remember them. Like,

1:52.0

I remember waking up. It's probably causing you to wake up. It's like zapping your wrist a little

1:57.6

bit and you're waking up. And then you're looking the next morning going, oh yeah, that that little spike I can't sleep on one I'm a side sleeper and I can't sleep on one side for a super long time and I I wake up to roll over so like I mean that happens to me all the time but the only time I usually can't go back to sleep is when I have to wake up and pee that like, and that happens like it does for you about four to four and a half hours after I go to sleep now. Yeah, it's

2:23.7

annoying too, because I'll pee. It's like when I get on an airplane, like even for a two-hour

2:28.4

flight to Seattle. Yeah. I'll pee. And then once they start boarding, I pee then again,

2:34.0

just to make sure there's nothing.
